Postpartum Care Provides Relief And Quick Recovery For La Canada Mothers

The initial period after childbirth is extremely crucial to both the child's and the mother's future health outlook. After all, receiving proper postpartum care could be the difference between a difficult infancy period and one that goes as smoothly as possible.

Did you know that pregnant mothers can begin to prepare for a healthy postpartum period when they invest in A-1 Home Care's leading postpartum care services found right here in La Canada? That's because the expert care providers at A-1 Home Care don't just understand the importance of mothers needing to regain their strength sooner rather than later and getting their hormone levels back to normal, they also put that understanding into practice while expertly providing compassionate care for the newborn until his/her mother is strong enough to care for the child.

A-1 Home Care helps to alleviate the responsibilities of the mother with options like 24 hour live-in care that can help quell the midnight cries of an emotional baby-- so the mother doesn't have to. After all, part of postpartum care means helping moms regain full strength as quickly as possible, and getting enough sleep after giving birth plays a critical role in having that become a reality.

Elder Caregivers Available for the Senior Community in La Canada

Happy Independence Day Everyone!

Here at A-1 Home Care, we know a lot about the importance of freedom and independence. To some people, more freedom can mean being able to go out without any worry of repercussions that may com in form of lectures from parents, or late work or school projects due to procrastination. But for seniors and the elder community, independence can mean the freedom to live at home by oneself without the fear of being alone and without anyone to alert in case of emergencies.

It is a very real fear that is shared in the elder community and it is why we, here at A-1 Home Care, would like to offer families in La Canada the opportunity to hire their very own 24 Hour and In Home caregiver to watch over senior family members. Under their care, seniors will not have to worry about burdening any family members with daily errands. Not only that, but they can be assured their needs are taken seriously. Our live in caregivers have 2 years or more of caregiver experience, so they are perfectly adept at handling any facet of care including Alzheimer's & Dementia Care, Parkinson's Care and Companion Care.

Making preparations for Mom/ Elder Law & Conservatorship

First, the symptoms were slight. Mom sometimes started misplacing things, forgetting steps to long used recipes, or just seemed a little forgetful. Now the diagnosis is clear. She is losing her memory to Alzheimer's disease.

Suddenly, everything is a whirlwind. There are arrangements to make. Between yourself and your siblings, mom's arrangements for self care, living expenses, and legal power of attorney must be determined. It's a difficult time for your family, but plans must be made to ensure the best quality of life for your mother.

This is where an elder law attorney comes in. Elder law attorneys handles cases in which elderly or special needs adults require conservators to handle their essential decisions. When an elder cannot handle basic decisions regarding food, shelter, medical decisions, and daily living, it's time to make changes.

A-1 Home Care has worked with elders and their conservators for years. We assist seniors who live in  La Canada, Flintridge, Los Angeles, Altadena,Pasadena, South Pasadena, Glendale, San Marino, Burbank and other cities in Los Angeles County.

Planning activities for seniors with dementia/ A-1 Home Care in La Canada

So how do our caregivers plan days with elders who have dementia?

When planning an activity for someone who is coping with dementia, the plan must remain dynamic. It is very unlikely to finish what is started or that it will turn out exactly as planned. That is why the goal is never the actual activity. The true activity is hearing elderly loves ones laugh, watching them smile and knowing that for a moment they are happy. Someone who is struggling with Alzheimer not only can change on a day-to-day basis, but on a moment-to-moment basis. To remain encouraged, keep an open mind and be willing to try new things.

A-1 Home Care has agents who provide consultations for elders interested in homecare. We are a nonmedical home health agency with experienced in home caregivers who are fully Licensed, Bonded and Insured.

Call us if you live in La Canada, Flintridge, Los Angeles, Altadena,Pasadena, South Pasadena, Glendale, San Marino, Burbank and other cities in Los Angeles County.

Post Surgery Care in La Canada

Many things can happen in the post surgery period. You may feel hazy or groggy as you come round from the anesthetic. A nurse will give you oxygen (through tubes or a mask) to help you feel better. It's common to feel sick or vomit after you've been given anaesthesia. Your nurse may offer you medicine to help relieve this discomfort.

It's important to find out how well your operation went. Here are some questions you may want to ask:
  • Was the operation as successful as expected?
  • What effect has the operation had on my condition?
  • How will I expect to feel when I get home?
  • How long will it be before I'm back to normal?
A-1 Home Care assists seniors with After Surgery Care, who live in  La Canada, Flintridge, Los Angeles, Altadena,Pasadena, South Pasadena, Glendale, San Marino, Burbank and other cities in Los Angeles County.
